Calendar
Sierra Christian Service Camp's Rental Calendar. Please note it may take several days for your request to appear on our calendar. Also, dates requested but not reserved with a deposit may not be shown on our calendar.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. How far in advance can we rent? We typically take reservations one year in advance. Some groups reserve up to three years in advance.
2. How can I know my weekend will be available every year? Once you become a renter of SCSC you are given priority over others in choosing the dates of your next event. Renters who rent the same weekend year after year can be assured that their weekend will always be available (such as the 2nd weekend of July). Renters who bounce around cannot be given this assurance.
3. How is priority established among renters? Rentals are made on the basis of "first come-first serve" as to when deposits are received. Dates are not guaranteed until a deposit is received. Or, as an established renter renting a recurring weekend weekend priority is given once an intent to reserve is expressed.
4. How soon can we come after renting? The rental process can be completed within a couple of hours and weekends as soon as a week away can still be chosen.
5. What is your weather like? Typical "average years" may be as follows:
January: Occasional hard rain or snow. Likelihood of snow when it rains is 75%. Otherwise clear and beautiful. Average temperatures 25-50.
February: Occasional hard rain or snow. Likelihood of snow when it rains is 85%. Otherwise clear and beautiful. Average temperatures 25-50.
March: Occasional rain, small chance for snow. Likelihood of snow when it rains is 25%. Otherwise clear and beautiful. Average temperatures 32-55.
April: Occasional small passing shower. Very beautiful. Lush green grass and wildflowers. Average temperatures 35-60.
May: Highly desirable month. Rare passing shower. Extremely green grass and trees. Wildflowers still visible. Average temperatures 40 - 68.
June: Nice sunny month. Pool is open and warming up. Grass remains green with good shade on trees. Average temperatures 50 - 88.
July: Nice and warm, but not hot. Pool is up to temperature. Pleasant breeze in the air. Average temperatures 55 - 95.
August: Our warmest month. Nice afternoon breezes. Good shade on trees. Average temperatures 65 - 100. (rarely in the 100's).
September: Cooling down, but still warm. Foliage is beginning to turn. Sneak peak at fall color. Average temperatures 55 - 90.
October: Highly desirable, clear and calm weather. Amazing fall color. Bright clear skies. Average temperatures 45 - 80.
November: Still clear and calm. Last chance for fall color. Growing chance for precipitation. Average temperatures 35 - 70.
December: Beautiful crisp calm days and nights. First chance for a good winter snow. Average temperatures 25 - 60.
6. How much snow can you get? The average snow storm brings 2-4 inches. A big storm may bring 6-8 inches. A "huge" storm may bring 12 inches. Snow rarely affects the prepared traveling person as the roads are nicely plowed. Chains are a good precaution but a 4x4 rarely needs them. Otherwise a front-wheel-drive vehicle with chains or cables works just fine.
